Engine Room Emergencies: Recovery from a Blackout

Doulgerof & Lamberg ApS 40 minutes

In this E-course, you will learn about ‘Black-out’ and be introduced to a generic Engine Room Emergency procedure, which will expand your knowledge, and will help you in connection with an actual ‘Black-out’ on board. The generic procedure has been manualised in order to function as a step-by-step guide.

The E-course has been divided into the following sections: What is a ‘Black-out’, what are the procedures and why is it important to follow them, before the ‘Black-out’, during the ‘Black-out’ and after the ‘Black-out’.

As human factors are always an integral part of emergencies, we have included a few important points of attention which will be important for you when it comes to an emergency.

It is important to stress that you always orient yourself towards the specifications of your engine room and that you follow your shipping company-approved procedures.

At the end of the E-course, you will be presented with an assessment.
