Human relations and social responsibilities are fundamental since they work hand in hand to mitigate casualties and incidents. Ensuring the seafarers are in a positive working environment results in proper communication and good and effective teamwork.
Unfortunately, it is also one of the main contributors to many casualties in the maritime industry. This can only be made worse by lousy human relations onboard. To perform onboard operations smoothly and safely, good personal relationships among seafarers are paramount.
Human relation skills such as communication and the way to handle conflicts can help us ensure a better relationship between fellow crew members onboard.
