This is an introductory course on the point of sail and on the basic manoeuvres used on board the boat.

This course shows how to prepare boats for arrival at their destinations by readying lines, equipment and passengers or crew for the intended arrival manoeuvres. Bringing boats to predetermined points by using a stopping procedure – giving consideration to wind, current and boat traffic. Securing boats to a dock or slip or mooring or shoreline, all by using appropriate lines and knots.

The Mediterranean Moor, Med Moor or Medi Moor is a very efficient way of securing your vessel to a quay, it takes up little space, makes for a swift departure and if correctly executed, looks great.

This course shows how to depart from docks or slips using boat engine shifts, throttles and steering. While considering wind & current, adequately managing lines and maintaining a proper lookout throughout all activities.

The Baltic Moor looks complicated but the knowledge of how to complete one can be a useful skill to have at your disposal.
