Throughout this course, we will delve into the critical precautions, regulatory requirements, and emergency procedures necessary to manage reactive and self-reactive cargoes effectively. We will explore the guidelines set forth by the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code, U.S. regulations including 46 CFR 150, and best practices for ensuring safety on board vessels.

Attendees will gain an understanding of the IMDG Code and U.S. regulations, such as 46 CFR 150. They will learn to identify chemical compatibility and use compatibility charts effectively. The course will also cover the requirements for inhibitor certificates and the importance of temperature monitoring for self-reactive cargo.

Participants will be able to check cargo compatibility, ensure proper equipment use, segregate incompatible cargoes, and follow emergency procedures, enhancing their ability to manage hazardous materials safely and efficiently.
