How to Re-Seam a Deck

In this short course, you will learn how to take care of your deck and how to re-seam it. At Teakdecking Systems we understand that it can be a big job. An ageing teak deck can have proud caulking and scuffing a foot on the deck could loosen the caulk. In such cases tugging on the caulking will easily pull it up or if the caulk has separated from the teak planking, it will eventually loosen if not repaired. These gaps will trap water and potentially cause damage.

We have perfected the art of caulking and want to share our advice to prevent frustrations.

In this course, you will learn how to remove the old caulking, prepare the deck for re-caulking and how to fill the seams. Additionally, advice on application techniques for grey and white caulking and aftercare suggestions will also be tackled.
