This course is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Safety Representative in a Norwegian Maritime Working Environment Committee. The course covers the legal framework for the Safety Representative's role, including the Norwegian Maritime Act and the Working Environment Act. Participants will learn about the key duties and responsibilities of the Safety Representative.
Participants will also learn about the different roles and responsibilities of the Working Environment Committee. This includes developing and implementing the company's health & safety policies; monitoring compliance with relevant legislation; and collaborating with management and the Safety Representative to address any issues related to health and safety in the workplace.
There are two parts to this training course. The first is this e-learning module which will take around 8 hours. The second is a workbook to be completed onboard the ship which covers 32 hours of training. The workbook, and instructions for how to complete it, are contained within the introduction section for this course.
