When you successfully complete the course "Security Awareness Training" you will have the required standard of competence. This enables you to contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness, the ability to recognise security threats and to respond appropriately.

This course is based on IMO model course 3.27 and the STCW code Table A-VI/6-1, "Security Awareness for all seafarers-3.27 ". Mandatory minimum requirements for security-related training and instruction for all seafarers.

This knowledge shall contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness and recognition of security threats. It also includes an understanding of the need for and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance.
