This course is intended to provide the basic knowledge and understanding of the Swedish Maritime Rules and Regulations for all Non-Swedish Master´s serving on board a Swedish ship. The course is mandatory for all Non-Swedish Master´s serving on board Swedish ships but is also available for all other Deck Officer´s as well.

The course takes the student through the most important regulations that he or she need to have the knowledge of in the daily work. Those who complete the course will have a basic understanding of current legislation including:

- National Acts
- National Regulations
- Provisions on occupational injuries, sickness, and insurance
- The keeping of Offical Deck Log Books
- Current work agreement for seafarers
- Reporting of work Injury
- Information on Medical Advice onboard ships via radio (Radio Medical)
