This course is mandatory and is intended to provide basic knowledge and understanding of the Swedish Maritime Rules and Regulations for all Non-Swedish Officers, both Engine and Deck, serving onboard a Swedish flagged-vessels.

In order to be able to complete this course, you need to have the books Swedish Maritime Law and Swedish Maritime Code available. You can purchase these two books from Jure Bokhandel, here: https://www.jure.se/ns/. If you need help with purchasing the books, you can contact us in the support chat.

The course takes the student through the most important regulations that he or she need to have the knowledge of in the daily work. Those who complete the course will have a basic understanding of current legislation including:

- National Acts
- National Regulations
- Provisions on occupational injuries, sickness, and insurance
- The keeping of Offical Deck Log Books
- Current work agreement for seafarers
- Reporting of work Injury
- Information on Medical Advice onboard ships via radio (Radio Medical)
