This course shows how to depart from docks or slips using boat engine shifts, throttles and steering. While considering wind & current, adequately managing lines and maintaining a proper lookout throughout all activities.

Learners will be able to make clear departures from mooring buoys and shorelines, confirming no conflicts with other boats or activities in the vicinity. They will be able to avoid contact with mooring lines and buoys, without damaging the propulsion unit.
