Dr Ghosh is an ex-master mariner who also has extensive experience as an educator and assessor. His research focuses on investigating the impact of innovative training and assessment methods in seafarer education and training towards improving students’ academic achievement. In this regard, he has also developed a conceptual framework to improve the validity and reliability of assessment. He also has keen interest in investigating the changing face of seafarer education due to automation in shipping and introduction of digital technologies.
