Personnel transfers are hazardous operations that can lead to injury or worse if not completed in as safe a manner as possible. The responsibility of safety for such operations lies with all involved, including those undergoing the personnel transfer.

This course explains the need for personnel transfers at sea and highlights the critical need for safety and responsibility during such operations. Three case studies show poor practice when using personnel transfer equipment. You are then expected to discuss these with your team onboard after completing the course to determine if your practices could be made safer in line with the recommendations of the course.
