Hot works mean any work requiring the use of electric arc or gas welding equipment, cutting burner equipment or other forms of naked flame, as well as heating or spark-generating tools, regardless of where it is carried out on board a ship.

Hot work at sea and onboard involves many risks. Accidents associated with hot works tend to be dramatic and can include explosions, fire, personal injuries, and even death. Make sure you set aside enough time for safe planning and execution.

Regulations and guidelines are in place to help prevent accidents. This course gives an overview of those documents and assists you in the process of carrying out hot works safely and efficiently.
