The management of personnel onboard ships is critical to ensure that all training requirements are met, both when on and off the ship. Many training courses are needed to ensure career progression as well as maintaining currency so that vessels are not delayed by non-conformities due to personnel certification.

This course covers the shipboard hierarchy and structures of departments, pointing out the general competencies of each rank that are required to maintain currency. It then discusses the shipboard training requirements and links this to the correct management of time and resources to ensure that the vessel is not deficient and hours of work & rest are adhered to.
