Everyone onboard must be prepared and know their duties before an emergency occurs. When an emergency happens, it happens fast. This course will give you a basic understanding and assist you with techniques for personal survival if an emergency occurs.

You will learn about life-saving appliances generally carried onboard, how equipment in survival crafts work and locations of personal life-saving devices. We will also cover principles in how to handle heatstroke, sunstroke, exposure to cold, hypothermia, effects of seasickness and other dangers such as drinking seawater, fire or oil on water and sharks in the water.

After completing this course, you will have a better understanding of the theoretical principles behind surviving at sea.
