This course is designed for onboard and ashore training shipboard personnel in identifying emergency towing equipment, their uses, and the hazards imposed when these are in use. The learner will reinforce training given during Tanker Safety Courses, and this will provide the development of STCW competencies as well as SOLAS requirements for tanker operations.

Upon completion of this course, the candidate will gain an understanding of emergency towing systems.

The objectives of the course include the following;

1. Understanding the international regulations and requirements for emergency towing systems.
2. Identify the main components of the Emergency Towing System
3. Gain knowledge of the uses and hazards of the Emergency Towing System.
