Emergency Towing Systems

This course is designed for onboard and ashore training of shipboard personnel in the identification of emergency towing equipment, their uses, and the hazards imposed when these are in use. The learner will reinforce training given during Tanker Safety Courses and this will provide development of STCW competencies as well as SOLAS requirements for tanker operations.

Upon completion of this course, the candidate will gain an understanding of emergency towing systems.

The objectives of the course include;

1. Understanding the international regulations and requirements with regards to emergency towing systems.
2. Identify the main components of the Emergency Towing System
3. Gain knowledge of the uses and hazards associated with the Emergency Towing System.
