This course gives additional training for operations in polar waters, underpinning the knowledge gained during STCW polar courses. In this course, the ship's crew will be given guidance on emergency procedures in polar waters. This course is not meant to be an approved STCW course but an additional training course for onboard learning.

Upon completion of this course, the candidate will have an understanding of emergency procedures in polar waters.

Learning Outcomes:
• Identify the initial and secondary actions for emergencies in polar climates.
• Describe and explain the contents and uses of polar survival equipment.
