This course is designed to teach maritime security professionals a basic understanding of how to deal with barricaded individuals or those who take hostages.

Upon completion of this course, the student will have a basic understanding of how to deal with barricaded individuals or individuals who may take hostages. Team composition and roles are discussed. Guidance for initial contact is provided along with avoidance of trigger words that may agitate the situation. Logistical concerns that may impact the incident are discussed. Finally, what to expect at the conclusion of an event is covered.
