Mental Health Awareness

Green-Jakobsen 18 minutes

Crew members’ mental health is an increasing concern in the maritime industry – and rightfully so. According to a study from the World Health Organisation (WHO), seafarers are the second most at-risk profession for suicide worldwide.

This course will help you understand the importance of mental health awareness on board. It introduces you to common mental health problems and their causes, especially social isolation. It also presents the different ways to avoid, spot and address mental health problems.
