Deck Watch: Bulk Carrier

A Deck Watch has key points that all watchkeepers must follow. In line with that knowledge, all Watchkeepers are given throughout training. It is important to follow standard principles for any vessel, but watchkeepers must also have specialist knowledge that relates only to the specific vessel they are working on; such as bulk carriers.

In this course, you will learn about various checks that should be made on a vessel to ensure a safe deck watch. You will learn about ship safety checks such as mooring, weather, PPE and permits.

You will learn about Cargo safety such as the cargo plan, cargo quality, dock water density etc. Security such as access, restricted areas and many more.

This course will also look into the specifics of cargo operations for bulk carriers such as the legislation, operations and safety.
