The course covers the legal framework for the Safety Representative's role, including the Norwegian Maritime Act and the Working Environment Act. This course provides training on synthetic mooring ropes, covering their care, maintenance, inspection, and safe usage. It includes best practices for mooring operations, safety precautions, and guidelines from the latest industry standards, such as MEG4. Participants will learn to maximise rope performance while ensuring safety and operational efficiency.

In this short course, we will watch a video of an incident and then analyse it to see what went wrong and what could have been done to prevent this incident.

This course guides engineers in carrying out a self-audit to prepare the vessel for inspections (Sire 2.0, RISQ, PSC, Flag State, etc). It helps engineers know the requirements, and the vessel in greater depth within a structured manner.

A successful self-audit requires crew knowledge and preparedness about what is expected to be examined during an inspection. This is for documentation, hardware, critical and emergency operations, and the standards of testing.
