The "Ship Pollution and IMO Environmental Conventions" course is a comprehensive program that covers different types of ship pollution and focuses on MARPOL and other international environmental agencies.

This course refers to activities that involve the handling of perishable food, in the stages of production, storage, cooking, packaging, etc. and it is aimed at personnel with duties related to the administration and handling of food in-service both ashore and onboard cargo and passenger ships.

The issues faced internationally concerning stowaways, migrants & refugees are ever-growing in today's difficult geopolitical environment. Situations involving stowaways and refugees have serious legal ramifications if not handled correctly and we need to adhere to the correct procedures for dealing with problems facing stowaways, migrants and refugees.

This course will cover Part A of the Collision Regulations as per the Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 (COLREGs) and additionally, it will also cover COLREGS from a USCG (US Coast Guard) perspective.

In this course, we will cover ISO 45001:2018 Understanding and Awareness.

Man Overboard is one of the various emergencies that can occur onboard a vessel, and like every other emergency, a man overboard requires immediate and precise intervention. To ensure that action is taken without delay in such an event, every crew member on board is trained in man overboard procedures and drilled on their specific duties at regular intervals as required by SOLAS. The correct and timely application of the procedures to be followed will increase the probability of a successful recovery and decrease the probability of a casualty.

The purpose of this course is to provide Engineers and shore superintendents with a basic knowledge of the source, use and precautions to be taken when using fuel oils on board ships. It covers Bunkering operations and the dubious practices used by some suppliers.

In this training, you will come on board a fully loaded bulk carrier, proceeding at full sea speed in conditions of heavy weather. While performing this training, ask yourself: - Could this happen to me?

Cyclones are intense areas of low pressure where the associated maximum winds can be more than 70 knots generating sea swells of great heights. If a ship runs into cyclones or navigates areas affected by these winds and swells, it can sustain a loss of lives, loss of cargo and even loss of the ship itself. Hence, ship officers should learn techniques and strategies to avoid cyclones at sea.

This course is to refresh the concepts covered by the Ship Security Officer course. It is not intended to replace the knowledge gained on that course or be used in place of it for approved certification.
