This course is to refresh the concepts covered by the Ship Security Officer course. It is not intended to replace the knowledge gained on that course or be used in place of it for approved certification.

Navigating the US healthcare system is difficult enough as a citizen, so you can imagine how it may be for a foreigner. Whether it is the terminology, procedures, or the system's overall complexity, using your crew medical insurance in the US can be daunting.

The purpose of this course is to provide Engineers and shore superintendents with a basic knowledge of the source, use and precautions to be taken when using fuel oils on board ships. It covers Bunkering operations and the dubious practices used by some suppliers.

Man Overboard is one of the various emergencies that can occur onboard a vessel, and like every other emergency, a man overboard requires immediate and precise intervention. To ensure that action is taken without delay in such an event, every crew member on board is trained in man overboard procedures and drilled on their specific duties at regular intervals as required by SOLAS. The correct and timely application of the procedures to be followed will increase the probability of a successful recovery and decrease the probability of a casualty.

Cyclones are intense areas of low pressure where the associated maximum winds can be more than 70 knots generating sea swells of great heights. If a ship runs into cyclones or navigates areas affected by these winds and swells, it can sustain a loss of lives, loss of cargo and even loss of the ship itself. Hence, ship officers should learn techniques and strategies to avoid cyclones at sea.

This course covers the main material included in the Advanced Oil Tanker Training course as set out by STCW. It is intended for all oil tanker personnel to refresh their knowledge as well as any prospective seafarers wanting to take the STCW oil tanker training in the future.

This is an introductory course for anyone who will work in archipelago traffic. In this course, you will learn the theoretical basics of maritime safety.

Corruption and bribery are traditionally seen as part of doing business in the maritime industry. These practices undermine the trust in the industry and need to be reported to stop them.

This course covers the theoretical knowledge of the STCW Fast Rescue Boat course.

Regulation 37 of MARPOL Annex I requires that oil tankers of 150 gross tonnes and above and all ships of 400 gross tonnes and above carry an approved Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP). This must be read and understood by all officers and crew so that any oil spills that do occur have minimal impact on the marine environment.

This course is in compliance with the training programme of the "Danish Shipping Legislation for Foreign Senior Officers Except for Master" approved by the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) in compliance with the requirement for the issuance of a Danish Recognition Certificate valid for service as foreign chief officer, chief engineer or second engineer on board Danish-flagged vessels.
