The Hand Tools Safety course shows the learner how to safely select, use, maintain and store hand and power tools on board ships. This course identifies the correct PPE to be worn when using tools and the potential consequences of incorrect use of hand tools on board.

The International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) came into force in 2004 as an amendment to the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention. It specifies the responsibilities of governments, shipping companies, shipboard personnel, and port facility personnel to detect security threats and take preventive measures against security incidents affecting ships or port facilities.

In this course, you will learn about The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. This code describes how vessels, ports and government agencies should act when it comes to security. It gives you guidance on how to act when working in the maritime industry.

This course is an introduction to the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC) and is directed to all seafarers working on board ships. It is intended to provide basic knowledge of the MLC 2006 required for all personnel working on board ships.
